God’s Good Design

The Abilene Theology Conference exists to equip the saints of Abilene and the surrounding Big Country area with knowledge of God as expressed solely through His Word. The provided teaching will address various topics in today’s world from a Biblical perspective. The conference will provide teaching that expresses a high view of the Bible and His church for His glory. Conference Speakers will be those who have dedicated their lives to study God’s Word and how it addresses the conference topic. Those who attend can expect to be better equipped to address cultural issues from a Biblical perspective, serve the church, and understand God through His Word.

How can Christian men and women live faithfully in a world confused over sexuality and gender? Surely we must be reminded of what Scripture teaches. Yet as God’s design for sexuality is being suppressed and denied in the modern world, we need to hear it articulated in a fresh and accessible way. God’s Good Design presents the historic, biblical view of sexuality in a manner that is appealing even to those who have been conditioned to believe it is scary or oppressive. Readers will be persuaded of the goodness of God’s design through straightforward biblical reasoning, personal illustrations, practical applications, and lots of “I never thought of it that way” insights.”

2022 | Spiritual Gifts

What are the Spiritual Gifts? What about prophecy tongues? Are they for today? All of these are questions we should ask as Christians. Dr. Thomas Schreiner answers each of these questions and more in a biblically faithful way.

2020 | Biblical Answers for Complex Questions

Dr. Owen Strachan spoke to the current issue of Wokeness and how we need to view it through the lens of the Gospel. Strachan is a professor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has published six books and is a contributing writer for The Gospel Coalition.

2019 | Biblical manhood & womanhood

Dr. Bruce Ware spoke on Biblical Masculinity and Femininity. Ware is a highly esteemed theologian and author in the evangelical world, and is currently a professor of Theology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Ware has written numerous journal articles, book chapters, and book reviews and, along with Thomas Schreiner, co-edited Still Sovereign.

2018 | Gospel Community

The Christian life is to be lived in the context of a gospel-centered community. This community is shaped by God’s word, discipleship, and true worship. We unpack the richness of the community God has called us to in the local church. Our speakers have years of pastorial experience and are committed to seeing God’s people thrive.
